Video games and its effects are topics of a great discussion since the beginning of this century. On one hand, Walker, (2001). says that children who play violent video games have more tendency to become more violent than the children who do not play (p.116). On the other hand, Smith, A.J. (2003). agrees with Walker, but he argues that almost everything in a children life have a violent side, like TV shows or films, and looking this way, the video games are not the only responsible for the children becoming more violent. Smith also says that exists many others video games such sports games, that are not violent. In my opinion, i have to agree with Smith, because if video games makes children more violent and we should avoid them, we also have to avoid TV shows and films, because they are also violent.
